SECURITY ENGINEER

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Security Engineer at our Cybermaxx, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding our clients' critical information and infrastructure from ever-evolving cyber threats. Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cutting-edge security solutions to maintain the highest level of protection for our clients' digital assets.

•  Scope and make changes to client firewalls, WAF, IPS, and VPN.
•  Mentor junior-level staff to assist in the development of competencies and professional development.
•   Prepare formal and informal training for team members and clients.
•  Scope and POC projects for new and existing clients.
•  Work with PM and Account Managers to provide SME for firewall and WAF related projects.
•  Help distribute and manage workloads and project tasks for junior staff and interns
•  Initially this role will work 60% on firewalls, 30% on log onboarding and management and 10% on VRM. Within 6 months, the role will shift to a ratio of 50% firewall and 50% VRM.

• Associate-level degree in Information Technology / Networking / Cybersecurity is a must. A Bachelor level degree in Cybersecurity / Information Technology / Computer Science / Computer Engineering is preferred.  A combination of education and experience will be considered. 
• One of the 3 following certifications: NSE4 – PCNSE – CCNP Security (or ability to attain a certification within 90 days of hire) is required, 2 out of 3 is preferred.
• Must possess a high- level of troubleshooting and operation knowledge in 2 of the following 3 platforms:   Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco (ASA).  (Specifically, must have demonstrated experience with Cisco to Palo or Fortinet migration).
• High level of troubleshooting and operation knowledge of the following platforms: Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco (ASA / Firepower / Meraki), Juniper SRX, SonicWall NSA, Sophos XG/SG is preferred. 
• Exposure to the deployment and management of continual compliance platforms such as  FireMon ,Skybox  and Tufin is preferred.
•  Must be proficient with TCP/IP Networking, Network Protocols, Routing and IP Subnetting.
• Must have knowledge & expertise configuring, managing and troubleshooting stateful firewalls, firewall policies and NAT configuration.
• Must be comfortable with configuring, managing and troubleshooting using both CLI & GUI. Linux CLI experience is a plus.
• Some knowledge & expertise in configuring, managing and troubleshooting site-to-site VPN tunnels and remote access VPN tunnels is a must.
• Some knowledge & experience in Syslog configuration, log analysis and operational knowledge of SIEM is a must.
• Some knowledge & experience in working with TLS & IPSec encryption is a must.
• Some knowledge & experience in managing network level Unified Threat Management (UTM) systems including AntiVirus, IDS/IPS, Web Filter etc. is a plus.
• Some knowledge & experience in Vulnerability Management & Mitigation is a plus.
• Some scripting knowledge with Bash and/or Python is a huge plus.
• Moderate experience with managing EDR software is preferred.
• Experience with managing log pipelines for network appliances such as firewalls, NIDS, IPS, WAF
• Ability to own responsibility of project work and delegate tasks to junior staff as appropriate.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team structure in an ego-less environment.
